PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporting structure for joining a supporting member airtightly and highly strongly to a porous cylindrical body on which a porous film is disposed, and to provide a bonding method for the supporting member. SOLUTION: End caps 16, 18 and a porous cylinder 12 are bonded to each other and are airtightly sealed on a sealing part 56 and, at the same time, the outer peripheral surface of the porous cylinder 12 is hermetically sealed by an annular sealing part 62 disposed on the boundary part between the sealing part 56 and the porous film 60. The bonding strength between the end caps 16, 18 and the porous cylinder 12 is secured by the sealing part 56 and, therefore, the sealing part 62 which covers annularly the boundary part between the porous film 60 and the sealing part 56 does not have, contribution to the bonding between the end caps 16, 18 and the porous cylinder 12. As a result, the sealing part 62 is formed by using a sealing material which is baked at a lower temperature than the film forming temperature after forming the porous film 60 and, therefore, the airtightness is secured without deteriorating the porous film 60.
