The invention relates to a retractable, electro-mechanical mortise lock with manually-actuated remote opening and automatic closing, as well as to a key and a door retainer. The invention consists of a lock body which is installed in the door prior to the machining of the housing, whereby the mechanism and the electrical connection are disposed in the door. Moreover, a cavity is provided in the doorframe for the casing of the bolt (27). In addition, the electro-lock is equipped with an opening latch for the bolt (15), which remains blocked by the drive lever (8) when the door is locked. The aforementioned latch (31) defines the section which projects out from the lock (2) loading cap depending on the position thereof.
