HIGHLY WATER-PERMEABLE BLOOD PURIFIER OF HOLLOW-FIBER MEMBRANE TYPE

A medical blood purifier of the hollow-fiber type which is excellent in safety and suitability for module assembly and has high water permeability suitable for treatments for chronic renal failure. The highly water-permeable blood purifier of the hollow-fiber membrane type comprises a hydrophobic-polymer hollow-fiber membrane containing a hydrophilic polymer, wherein the amount of the hydrophilic polymer extracted from the hollow-fiber membrane is 10 ppm or smaller, the proportion of the hydrophilic polymer present in the outer surface of the hollow-fiber membrane is 25 to 50 mass%, and the hollow-fiber membrane has a burst pressure of 0.5 MPa or higher. The blood purifier is characterized by having a water permeability of 150 ml/m<2>/hr/mmHg or higher.
