LIQUID CRYSTAL ALIGNMENT SUBSTRATE, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME, LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal alignment substrate having a wide angle of visibility by simplifying a manufacturing process.

SOLUTION: The problem is solved by providing an alignment film 5 arranging the director of liquid crystal molecules on the surface of the substrate along the direction of a substrate normal line, and forming an inclination alignment regulation region 6 arranged to incline the director of the liquid crystal molecules on part of the alignment film 5 in a zigzag manner to the direction of the substrate normal line. A liquid crystal has at least one pixel region every other pixel, and at least one staggered flexure of the inclination alignment regulation region 6 is preferably arranged in the pixel region. In addition, the alignment film 5 has a hydrophobic region, and the inclination alignment regulation region 6 preferably has a hydrophilic region.
