PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 2-phenyl-4-quinolone-3-carboxylic acid derivative, and to provide an anticancer agent given by using the same.

SOLUTION: This 2-phenyl-4-quinolone-3-carboxylic acid compound having substituents and expressed by formula (I) (R2, R3, R4, R5, R2', R3', R4', R5' and R6' are each H, Cl, F or methoxy; and R is H), including a tromethamine salt thereof, and the anticancer agent containing the compound are provided, respectively.
