PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive needle having excellent electron emission performance.

SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a conductive needle comprises a step S1 for removing an oxide film existing on the end surface of a conductive substrate, a step S2 for causing one end of carbon nanotube to come into contact with an area where the oxide film has been removed, and a step S3 for coating with a conductive material at least a part of a portion where the conductive substrate and the carbon nanotube come into contact with each other. Consequently, the contact resistance between the carbon nanotube and the conductive substrate is reduced and the electron emission performance is improved.
