<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflector using a glass material having excellent heat resistance and to provide a projection type display using the reflector. <P>SOLUTION: A projector device includes a light source which emits white light; a reflector which reflects an outgoing luminous flux from the light source; a light valve which modulates illuminating luminous flux; and a projection lens which projects images on the light valve. In the projector device, the reflector is made of glass comprising, as its main constituent, SIO<SB>2</SB>containing at least one rare earth element selected from a group consisting of Sc, Y, La, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, and Lu. The coefficient of the thermal expansion of the glass is smaller than 40×10<SP>-7</SP>/°C and its transition temperature is higher than 500°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
