PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved technique for measuring C-peptide, usable for accurately grasping pancreasβ-cell function by measuring the decomposed C-peptide in urine. SOLUTION: The method is improved by making an antibody against a part of amino acids constituting the C-peptide. Concretely, the antibody against a polypeptide selected from (1) a peptide having a specific amino acid sequence, (2) a peptide containing at least 5 sequences of the specific amino acid sequence and keeping the immunogenicity, and (3) a peptide having an amino acid sequence obtained by substituting, deleting, adding or inserting at least one amino acid with, from or to the specific amino acid sequence, and keeping the substantially same immunogenicity with the peptide having the specific amino acid sequence, is made, and the antibody is used in the method.
