The method involves estimating the axial displacement fields in the tissue, determining the elastic modulus using a minimization operation and a division of elastic moduli into elementary elements and their treatment using a finite element model for the axial displacement field. The solution is normalized using a diagonal matrix, the coefficients of which are functions of the axial displacements which are applied to the values of elementary elastic moduli. An Independent claim is made for an echographic device based on an ultrasonic probe and its focusing and scanning within the soft tissue of a patient.
