<p>A tool unit holds a component (12), in particular a glass plate, and forms a cavity for molding a frame around the plate. A plate centering mechanism comprises swiveling eccentric levers (37,38,39,40,41,42), each mounted on rotatable shafts (43,44,45,46,47,48) to allow contact with a glass plate edge. Shaft rotation is effected by a fixed position transmission system (50,52) connected to a drive unit (55,56). The transmission system (50,52) comprises a belt or chain with a tensioning system (57,58,60), preferably spring-loaded rolls. Teeth on each shaft connect with the belt or chain. A pneumatic or hydraulic system (55,56), preferably a double acting cylinder, drives the transmission belts or chains. Alternatively a servomotor can be used. Shafts can comprise two or more sections joined by a driver. One section carrying the centering arm (37) extends through a slide and can move and/or swivel relative to the other shaft section.</p> |
