<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the maintainability and the handleability of an image forming apparatus constituted to inhibit image forming operation when an image forming inhibition error is caused by permitting the apparatus to form an image according to designation from a user when it is the error which enables the image forming operation to be continued out of the image forming inhibition errors. <P>SOLUTION: When a developing device separating mechanism for separating a developing cartridge from a photoreceptor drum breaks down and the separation of the developing cartridge from the photoreceptor drum is not detected by using a sensor (S13: NO) in a laser printer, the image forming operation is temporarily inhibited by deciding that the image forming inhibition error which requires to inhibit forming the image is caused (S18). However, when an image forming continuing command is input from the user thereafter since the image forming operation itself can be performed in the case of such an error, forming a test image or the image of maintenance information by using an image forming part 5 is permitted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
