PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fibrous structural material having remarkably improved performance of adsorbing and decomposing harmful chemical substances in air and water for a long period, without requiring light irradiation and without being limited by time or place.

SOLUTION: This fibrous structural material consists of fibers having <0.1 dtex single fiber fineness, and an air catalyst generating hydroxyl radical, ozone or a peroxide without any light irradiation is fixed to the fibrous structural material.
