PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular steering device capable of simplifying and miniaturizing the configuration of a connection means required for generating fail, and preventing sense of incompatibility from being given to a driver when performing active control in a link type steering device. SOLUTION: The vehicular steering device has annular grooves 23a and 16a formed in a transmission shaft 23 rotated by the operation of a steering wheel 2 and a pinion shaft 16 connected to a wheel, and also has an endless member 4 such as a V-belt which is stretched over the annular grooves 23a and 16a to transmit the rotation of the transmission shaft 23 to the pinion shaft 16 and a pressing member 5 to press the endless member 4 so as to transmit the rotation. When a failure occurs, the endless member 4 in a slackened state is tightened. When active control is performed, the endless member 4 in a tightened state is slackened.
