PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent failure of a fuel system, an engine or the like by making fuel not containing moisture act on a filter element. SOLUTION: This filter device 1 is provided with a casing 2 including an inlet 3 and an outlet 4 of fuel and the filter element 25 installed between the inlet 3 and the outlet 4 in the casing 2 and filtering foreign matter such as dust contained in fuel. A partition wall 8 is provided in the casing 2 and the inside of the casing 2 is partitioned to a primary transportation system 9 communicating to the outlet 3 located in an upstream side of the filter element 25 and a secondary transportation system 10 located in a downstream thereof. The primary transportation system 9 is composed of a first space 12, a separation reservoir chamber 16 and a third space 22. Moisture in fuel is separated by gravity and reserved in the separation reservoir chamber 16 and fuel not containing moisture is introduced to the filter element 25. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
