PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll compressor having a chip seal in a sectional shape to solve the following problem: when a force is applied on the chip seal in the direction of torsion, the edge part interferes with the chip-seal groove wall-face, and the floating performance is decreased, because the chip-seal sectional shape is almost rectangular. SOLUTION: In the chip-seal 244, a chamfer-like relief 286 is formed on the outside of the reverse sealing face in a nearly half-coiling section from the tail end 285 of an orbiting scroll 213 to the leading end, while a chamfer-like relief 287 is formed on the inside of the reverse sealing face in the section other than the nearly half coiling section from the tail end 285 of the orbiting scroll 213.
