PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an applicator which is stable in beading, free from a streak failure, and capable of application for a long time when the simultaneous multilayer application of a plurality of coating solutions with a volatile solvent contained in at least one coating solution is carried out by using a slide type coater. SOLUTION: In the applicator having a backup roll for winding/conveying/guiding a belt-like support conveyed continuously, the slide type coater for simultaneous multilayer application which applies a plurality of coating solutions, and a pressure-reduced chamber, at least one coating solution of the coating solutions contains the volatile solvent, application width regulating plates are provided at both ends of a slide surface, the width of the coating solution flowing down on the slide surface is by 40-300 mm (%) narrower than the width of the pressure-reduced chamber, and the distance from the inside to the end of the width of the pressure-reduced chamber is 10-400 mm.
