<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable conical fillet. <P>SOLUTION: A turbine bucket airfoil 20 has the conical fillet 40 about the intersection of an airfoil tip 33 and a tip shroud 42 having a nominal profile in accordance with coordinate values of X and Y, offset O1, offset O2, and Rho set forth in Table I. The shape of the fillet may be parabolic or the like as a function of the value of the shape parameter ratio of D1/(D1+D2) at each X, Y location, wherein D1 is a distance between an intermediate point 59 along a chord 60 between edge points 56, 58 determined by offsets O1 and O2 and a shoulder point 62 on the fillet surface, and D2 is a distance between the shoulder point 62 and an apex location 52 at the intersection of the airfoil tip and tip shroud. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
