<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology for quickly generating an image by imparting desired color tone to an original image by a desired degree. <P>SOLUTION: A color conversion table 41e has not only a three-dimensional lookup table 411 but a one-dimensional lookup table 412. The one-dimensional lookup table 412 determines use amount of ink to a monochrome image. When hue imparted to the monochrome image is determined, it is not necessary to refer to the three-dimensional lookup table 411 and the use amount of the ink is calculated by referring to the one-dimensional lookup table 412.
