PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface mounted oscillator of which a strength is enhanced by particularly providing an examination crystal terminal on an outer surface of a container main body. SOLUTION: In the surface mounted crystal oscillator, a crystal piece and an IC chip are housed in a recessed container main body constituted by laminating at least a frame wall having a window on a bottom wall whereon a crystal terminal is provided, the examination crystal terminal electrically connected with the crystal terminal is provided on the outer surface of the container main body, and an opening surface of the container main body is sealed by seam welding. The examination crystal terminal is constituted by extending the crystal terminal on an outer peripheral surface of the bottom wall and notching a part of the outer periphery of the frame wall to expose the examination crystal terminal.
