A switch cabinet is provided with a switch panel (1) having a socket (3) for receiving a control module of a first type. When this original module is removed, the socket receives a system converter with expansion and conversion components, sockets, voltage taps and interfaces. A control module of a second type can then be installed and connected to the system converter.
