摘要 <p>There are provided a light projecting means for projecting a p-polarized parallel beam from an oblique direction to the back surface of a metal thin film, a liquid-contact means for bringing a substance to be measured into contact with the front surface of the metal thin film, and a light-receiving means for measuring the intensity of a reflected light from the metal thin film back surface. In a measuring instrument using surface plasmon resonance, a two-dimensional surface plasmon resonance device is characterized by having an optical lens for lessening the two-dimensional distortion. Another surface plasmon resonance device is characterized in that a measurement region of a rectangle having an aspect ratio of 0.5 or more or a square is set in the surface portion of a sensor of the surface plasmon resonance device, the measurement area is equally divided into 10x10 measurement sub-regions, in the center of each measurement sub-region a circular region of interest having a diameter corresponding to 40% of the length of the short side of the sub-region is provided, and when using water as baseline a measurement is made by bringing a 1%-ethanolaqeous solution into contact with the sensor surface, the area of the measurement region where the variation (CV) of the signals obtained from the 100 regions of interest is suppressed to 15% or less is 70 mm&lt;2&gt; or more. Further, a two-dimensional surface plasmon device where the distortion of a reflected image from a square region of 25 mm&lt;2&gt; or more on a chip is 4% or less is disclosed.</p>
