<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting device capable of appropriately preventing a foreign substance from coming into a spindle housing. <P>SOLUTION: The cutting device comprises a spindle 25, a spindle housing 26 for rotatably supporting the spindle 25 with an air bearing, an air supplying means for supplying air to the air bearing 26, and a mounting member 23 for mounting a cutting blade 22 at the tip of the spindle 25. In this cutting device, part of the air supplied to the air bearing is made to flow out of a clearance 40 between the spindle housing 26 and the spindle 25 on the mounting member 23 side, is passed in an exhaust passage 45 for air seal formed between the mounting member 23 and the spindle housing 26, and is exhausted to the outside air.
