PRINTING APPARATUS, ITS CONTROLLING METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that an image direction and a date character input direction are not consistent with each other because a date character input position is always fixed although images are sometimes rotated depending on image data.

SOLUTION: The printing apparatus is equipped with an analyzing means for analyzing the image data and acquiring information related to a rotation direction of the image data; an actual printing layout determining means for judging on the basis of the information related to the rotation direction of the image data acquired by the analyzing means and printing layout information whether or not it is necessary to rotate the image data to a recording medium, and for determining a layout whereby printing is to be actually carried out; an image data developing means for developing the image data in accordance with the layout determined by the actual printing layout determining means; an input data determining means for determining an input position and an input rotation direction of input data on the basis of the layout determined by the actual printing layout determining means; and a data inserting means for overlapping the input data with the developed image data.
