<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable and rapid search operation without increasing a deflection frequency in a biaxial light deflection means concerning a photodetector including the biaxial light deflection means such as a mirror to control the deflection of a light beam, etc. <P>SOLUTION: Two periodical signals which are mutually different in frequency are generated by a DSP 3. A deflection operation in each axial direction is independently controlled in the biaxial deflection mirror 1. The search operation to retrieve the direction of a light emitting element for allowing the light beam to be made incident to the biaxial deflection mirror 1 is performed concerning the locus of an incident position in the two-dimensional PSD element 2 of the light beam after passing the biaxial deflection mirror 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
