PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CVD (chemical vapor deposition) system and an apparatus for manufacturing glass in which the occurrence of a defect caused by a foreign substance deposited on a peripheral surface and fallen on a glass ribbon is prevented. SOLUTION: The CVD system 12 is arranged above the glass ribbon 8 in a float bath 1. To the CVD system 12, L-type members 40 are attached through heat-insulating materials 42. The foreign substance deposited on the outer face of the CVD system 12 or on the ceiling part of the float bath 1 and fallen is captured by the L-type members 40. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
