A blade 5 screwed to a holder 4 is mounted on a shear saddle 1 by means of one or more wedges 10 which are releasably secured to the saddle by spring-loaded bolt(s) 12, a wedge surface of the, or each, wedge bearing against the blade holder 4 so as to urge a vertical face 3a and an inclined face 2a on the holder into engagement with faces 3 and 2, respectively, on the saddle. To release the wedge(s) 10 fluid under pressure is applied to a cap 14 to compress springs 18. Alternatively the lock-nut 15 securing the cap on the bolt may take the form of the piston of a fluid pressure cylinder. The wedge(s) may alternatively be released by fluid pressure applied to the side of the cap. |
