The damper is in the form of a piston-cylinder unit with a working cavity in a cylinder also containing an axially moving separating piston (13) acted on by a fluid. The piston has at least two seals and one chamber connected to a working cavity. One seal (37) is in the form of the scraper for a chamber (41) which collects the dirt from the working cavity (11b). There is a flow connection between the working cavity and chamber, formed by an annular web (51) of the piston and the inner wall of the cylinder.
