<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect toner replenishment failure at an early stage, in a toner replenishment device which supplies toner by conveying a mixed fluid of a toner and air using a pump. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus detects toner conveyance failure by using a first abnormal-state detection means for detecting the abnormal rotation of a motor which drives a pump, a second abnormal-state detection means for detecting a condition in which a toner feed part is full of toner, or a third abnormal-state detection means which detects a condition in which a toner receiving part is empty of toner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
