PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a matrix optical switch capable of further miniaturization and lower cost of an optical crossconnect device as compared to a composition provided with two matrix optical switches. SOLUTION: The matrix optical switch is provided with movable mirrors A11-A44 disposed on respective grid points of a matrix and input/output ports B1-B4, C1-C4 disposed on extension lines of respective rows and respective columns of the matrix. Therein, signal light which is made incident from the input/output ports B1-B4, C1-C4 is reflected to the perpendicular direction by the movable mirrors A11-A44 and, thereby, the switching of an optical path is performed. The matrix optical switch is further constituted so that the input/output ports B1-B4, C1-C4 have a positioning member 4 and two collimator lenses 5, optical waveguides 6 are connected to the respective collimator lenses 5, the optical waveguides 6 function as bi-directional optical paths where transmission and reception form a pair and the switching of a pair of bi-directional optical paths is performed by means of one movable mirror.
