PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binder capable of binding an active material to a current collector, preventing coming off of the active material from the current collector caused by the the progress of charge/discharge cycles, and preventing the deterioration of battery performance. SOLUTION: The binder for the secondary battery contains polyolefin resin (A) containing an unsaturated carboxylic acid component (A1), an ethylene component (A2), and an acrylic ester or methacrylate ester component (A3).
