PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head, in which the number of parts is small, in which the working of a shield case is minimized, and in which a magnetic core can be spaced apart from the inner surface of the shield case. SOLUTION: In the magnetic head 1, a magnetic head constituent body L is housed inside the shield case 6 so that the front core part 3B faces a window part 6C, while base members 2a and 2b are disposed facing a body part 6A; a first protrusion 10A is provided near a front wall 6B and a second protrusion 10B is provided on the back side, in which the first protrusion 10A is positioned at the middle between a front gap G<SB>f</SB>and a back gap G<SB>b</SB>; and the first and the second protrusions 10A and 10B are engaged with spring parts 9A and 9B, respectively, so that the base members 2a and 2b are energized, respectively, and magnetic core assemblies K and K are brought into press contact with each other and are positioned in the shield case 6.
