PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which can form a visible image having high image quality and does not give rise to co-feeding of a sheet shape cleaning member in spite of a device having a configuration to clean the surface of a body of rotation for fixing by using the body of rotation for cleaning and the sheet shape cleaning member in combination. SOLUTION: The fixing device is provided with a means for cleaning the body of rotation for fixing for the purpose of cleaning the surface of the body of rotation for fixing. The means for cleaning the body of rotation for fixing has the body of rotation for cleaning which abuts on the body of rotation for fixing and removes the affix sticking to the body of rotation for fixing while rotating and the sheet shape cleaning member of≤10 sec/10 ml in Bekk smoothness of its surface, which comes into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the body of rotation for cleaning in a contact region of a contact width≥10 mm, and recovers the affix sticking to the body of rotation for cleaning.
