[Also in Division C2] An antiulcer composition comprises as active ingredient a compound of the general formula: wherein R is H, Cl or a C 1-5 alkyl or alkoxy group and each of R 1 and R 2 represents H or C 1-6 alkyl, dialkylaminoalkyl, acylamino- (C 1-6 alkyl), (C 1-5 alkoxy)-C 1-6 alkyl), C 1-6 hydroxyalkyl, phenalkyl, C 1-6 haloalkyl, phenylhydroxy-(C 1-6 alkyl), cycloalkyl, alkenyl alkynyl, phenyl, (C 1-5 alkoxyphenyl), halophenyl, (C 1-5 alkyl) phenyl, (C 1-5 hydroxyalkyl) phenyl or di (C 1-5 alkyl) aminophenyl; a 5 or 6-membered heterocyclic radical in which the hetero atom or atoms are O, S and/or N or a C 1-5 alkyl radical having a 5 or 6- membered heterosubstituent, the hetero atom(s) in the latter being O, S and/or N; or R 1 and R 2 together form a heterocyclic group optionally containing O, S or N in addition to the hetero nitrogen attached to the sulphonyl function, and optionally substituted with a hydroxy or C 1-5 alkyl group; or an acid addition salt of such a compound containing a basic substituent or substituents in the sulphamoyl radical and a solid carrier or a liquid carrier or diluent and an excipient a suspending, dispersing or solubilizing agent or a flavouring agent. A barbiturate or tranquilliser may also be present.
