PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cloth presser foot mechanism of an embroidery sewing machine capable of vertically driving a presser foot with a small force. SOLUTION: The cloth presser foot mechanism 1 of the embroidery sewing machine M is provided with a presser bar 2 fixed to the embroidery sewing machine M, a supporting member 3 fixed to the presser bar 2, and a presser foot member 4 which is supported on the supporting member 3 so as to vertically move, and which has a shaft 25 to be guided and the presser foot 26. The cloth presser foot mechanism 1 is also provided with a vertically-driven lever 6, a spring receiving pin 7, a helical compression spring 8, a coil spring 9, a stopper 10 and the like. A rear end of the vertically-driven lever 6 is pivoted to the supporting member 3 by a pivot pin 5 so that it is freely swung vertically around the pivot pin 5 and also swung upward by receiving driving force from a driving part 41 of a needle bar 40. The spring receiving pin 7 is fixed to a middle part of the shaft 25 to be guided. The helical compression spring 8 urges the presser foot member 4 and the vertically-driven lever 6 downward through the spring receiving part 7. A pressing part 31 of the vertically-driven lever 6 is constantly butted against the spring receiving pin 7 by the coil spring 9.
