A method for achieving a path with protection entity in the intelligent optical network. The invention relates to a method for achieving a path with protection entity in the intelligent optical network, wherein the method includes the following steps: a. establishing different traffic engineering TE links for the data links of different types of protection, establishing the data links which have the same protection attributes and belong to the same protection entities to be the same TE links; b. overflowing the protection entity information of the built TE links, spread out the protection entity information in the whole route area; c. achieving the path with protection entity in the said network according to the overflowed protection entity information. Using the invention, we can achieve the shortest path which satisfies the condition of restriction based on transmitting the inherent protection types of the network, and by the method of achieving protection topological in advance, effectively decrease the times of repeated calculation and increase the efficiency of the network.
