<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a yellow aqueous pigment dispersion having excellent dispersion stability, slight changes in particle diameter distribution and viscosity even in accelerated deterioration tests under high-temperature environments, having stabilized physical properties and suitable for an ink for inkjet recording, and to provide a water-based ink for inkjet recording prepared from the yellow aqueous pigment dispersion and having excellent printing characteristics on plain paper. <P>SOLUTION: The aqueous pigment dispersion for the inkjet recording comprises a yellow azo pigment (a), a styrenic resin (b), an alkali metal hydroxide (c) and a wetting agent (d). The aqueous pigment dispersion for the inkjet recording is characterized as follows. The styrenic resin (b) is a resin prepared by copolymerizing (i) a styrenic monomer in an amount of ≥60 mass% based on the whole monomer component and (ii) a monomer containing an unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acid having a radically polymerizable double bond, and the weight-average molecular weight of the styrenic resin (b) is within the range of 7,500-40,000. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
