<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce and eliminate dispersion of exhaust recirculation amount caused by response delay of exhaust recirculation gas. <P>SOLUTION: In S3, an engine output correction coefficient K corresponding to response speed of exhaust recirculation is calculated, on the basis of an intake air flow rate Af, exhaust pressure Pre and a charge level Eb. In S4, primary delay processing is applied to an engine output basic value PeO by using the coefficient K, and an engine output target value Pe is calculated.
