PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an advantageous production method of a compound which can serve as an intermediate of a vitamin D derivative. SOLUTION: In the method, a compound of formula (3) (wherein R12and R13are each a protecting group; and R15is an alkyl group, aryl group, alkenyl group or alkynyl group) is produced by subjecting a compound of formula (2) (wherein R12and R13are each a protecting group; and R14is a leaving group) to a carbonylation reaction in a solvent in the presence of an organic aluminum reagent and a palladium catalyst in a carbon monoxide atmosphere.
