PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die made of a resin having transparency of a degree practically applicable to objective light, reduced in surface abrasion and good in the releasability from a resin. SOLUTION: An ultraviolet curable resin layer 2 is formed on an original die 1 and a glass substrate 3 is pressed to the ultraviolet curable resin layer 2 to form the ultraviolet curable resin layer 2. In this state, the ultraviolet curable resin layer 2 is irradiated with ultraviolet rays through the glass substrate 3 and cured (b). Thereafter, the ultraviolet curable resin layer 2 is peeled from the original die 1 to form an intermediate die 4 composed of the ultraviolet curable resin layer 2 and the glass substrate 3 (c). A nickel layer 5 is formed on the surface of the ultraviolet curable resin layer 2 of the intermediate 4 by sputtering to complete the die 6 made of the resin (d). In this embodiment, the nickel plated layer is made extremely thinner than before so as to have a thickness of 25 nm or below to set the ultraviolet transmissivity of the die to 10% or above.
