PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing particles for a display device with narrow particle size distribution. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the particles for the display device, having the property to be positively or negatively charged and having colors, which contains at least an emulsifying step to emulsify a composition of components of the particles for the display device, containing at least a color material and a polymerizable monomer or a resin by adding calcium carbonate as an auxiliary emulsifier; the auxiliary emulsifier is calcium carbonate coated with a hydrophilic organic material; and the average dispersed particle diameter in an aqueous medium is 0.05-1μm and additionally, the coefficient of variation of the dispersed particle diameter is≤60%.
