DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE AND METHOD FOR A MULTI-ANTENNA SYSTEM

The invention relates to a diagnostic device and method for a multi-antenna system making it possible to detect a defect of one antenna (5-1 to 5n) of said antenna system. According to said invention, a device (1) records duration time and/or information on signal strength and signal quality of each antenna of the multi-antenna system. On the basis of recorded data, an analysing device (3) determines reference values and, by comparison with predetermined and pre-recorded reference values, detects the defect of an individual antenna in the case when all antennas (5-1 to 5n) are fully able to work and the reference value is less than the specified reference value. Thereupon, an error signal for corresponding antenna (5-1 to 5n) is transmitted by said analysing device (3) to a defect-indicating device (6) which then displays the error for corresponding antenna (5-1 to 5n). A corresponding diagnostic method is also disclosed.
