The invention concerns in particular a method and a device for processing an electric signal, by means of a communication device one part of which at least comprises at least one microphone generating an electric signal, adapted to be placed in a liquid environment wherein at least one diver operates. The method is characterized in that it consists in determining the presence or absence in the electric signal of at least one component derived from an acoustic signal generated by the release, by at least one diver, into the liquid environment, generating a signal adapted to the presence or absence in the electric signal of the component generated by the release of the gas mixture into the liquid environment, and transferring the signal to a correspondent, via the communication device.
