<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric ceramic which is free from lead, and has a high Curie point, high toughness, and excellent piezoelectric characteristics, especially, high Qmax. <P>SOLUTION: The piezoelectric ceramic contains, as a main component, a bismuth layered compound including (M<SP>II</SP><SB>1-x</SB>Ba<SB>x</SB>)Bi<SB>4</SB>(Ti<SB>4-y</SB>M<SP>IV</SP><SB>y</SB>)O<SB>15</SB>type crystal (wherein, M<SP>II</SP>is an element selected from Sr and Ca; M<SP>IV</SP>is an element selected from Zr and Hf; x is 0.3-0.8 and y is 0-0.12), and Rb and Mn, as bus-components. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
