PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for manufacturing a liquid ejection head in which durability against punching operation of interconnecting holes is enhanced and ejecting function of the liquid ejection head is also enhanced by arranging the end parts of an array of grooves entirely and linearly, and to provide a liquid ejection head obtained by that process. SOLUTION: In the process for manufacturing a liquid ejection head 1 comprising a pressure generating chamber forming plate 30 provided with grooves 36 and 33, a sealing plate 32, a pressure generating element 10, and a nozzle plate 31, a low rigidity shape part 61 is provided previously on the longitudinal direction side of each groove 36, 33 in the vicinity of the end of the grooves 36 while being spaced apart by a specified distance from the end part of the grooves 36 and 33, and the grooves are pressed between a first die 51 arranged with protrusions 53 and a second die 52. Since the low rigidity shape part 61 allows plastic fluid in the longitudinal direction of the grooves 36 and 33, grooves having a normal length can be molded and since punching load is lessened, durability is enhanced.
