PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicine having strong glucagon receptor antagonism and useful as a preventing and/or treating agent for symptoms and disease to which glucagon relates. SOLUTION: The medicament comprises a 2-furancarboxylic acid hydrazide compound expressed by formula (I) [A is a group or the like expressed by formula (a) (wherein, one of R<SP>4</SP>and R<SP>5</SP>is cyano, nitro or the like, and the other is H or the like) or the like; one of R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>is a group: -D-(X)<SB>m</SB>-R<SP>6</SP>(D is an aryl; X is O or the like; R<SP>6</SP>is an alkyl, an aryl, an arylalkyl or the like; and m is 0 or 1) or the like, and the other is a group: -E-(Y)<SB>n</SB>-R<SP>7</SP>(E is an aryl; Y is O or the like; R<SP>7</SP>is an alkyl, an aryl, an arylalkyl or the like; and n is 0 or 1), H, an aryl or the like; and R<SP>3</SP>is H or the like; provided that, the aryl may be substituted], its prodrug, its physiologically acceptable salt, its hyrdate, or its solvate.
