PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the drive reliability by optimizing the fitting of shape memory alloys to electrodes in a switching mechanism using the shape memory alloys. SOLUTION: A switching mechanism 1 comprising a moving member 2 movable along a predetermined track, two shape memory alloys 3a and 3b which are fitted via the moving member 2 and contracted in the directions opposite to each other by energization to each thereof to switch the position of the moving member, and electrodes A and B to be fitted to end parts of the shape memory alloys 3a and 3b has opening parts formed on the side in which the shape memory alloys 3a and 3b are inserted for the electrodes A and B, and holding units to hold and caulk the shape memory alloys 3a and 3b inserted from the opening ends so that the opening parts are expanded from the holding units to the opening ends.
