PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method with less acoustic noise for magnetic resonance imaging. SOLUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) device includes a magnet assembly (12) to generate a magnetic field, a patient positioning area (13), a first gradient coil assembly near the patient positioning area (13) constituted so as to generate a magnetic field grade corresponding to existence of a magnetic field generated by the magnet assembly, a second gradient coil assembly (14) near the magnet assembly (12) to prevent the magnetic field grade generated by an inner gradient coil assembly (16) from outward irradiating from the MRI device, a damping layer (22) sandwiched between the first and second gradient coil assemblies.
