Provided is a hermetic container including: a first substrate; a second substrate opposed to the first substrate; a frame arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate; and a composite member arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate. The frame is composed of a frame member, a first seal bonding material effecting seal bonding between the frame member and the first substrate, and a second seal bonding material effecting seal bonding between the frame member and the second substrate. The composite member is composed of a first member, a first adhesive material bonding the first member and the first substrate to each other, and a second adhesive material bonding the first member and the second substrate to each other. A modulus of rigidity of the first member is larger than a modulus of rigidity of at least one of the first adhesive material and the second adhesive material, and a combined shear rigidity of the composite member in a straight line which is parallel to a first plane, which is a surface of the first substrate opposed to the second substrate, and which extends in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the frame member, is higher than a combined shear rigidity of the frame in the straight line.
