A display device (50) includes: a plurality of input terminals (11-15) including a digital input terminal (15); a display signal processing unit (21) for selecting one of the display signals inputted from the input terminals (11-15); an EDID memory unit (3) compatible with a CE containing an EDID for a consumer device; an EDID memory unit (4) compatible with a PC containing an EDID for a personal computer; memory selection switches (5, 6) for connecting the EDID memory unit (3) compatible with the CE or the EDID memory unit (4) compatible with the PC to the digital input terminal (15); and a display control unit (22) for controlling the selection of the display signal in the display signal processing unit (21) so as to be interlocked with the switching in the memory selection switches (5, 6).
