PURPOSE: An anti-cancer agent comprising platycodin as an effective ingredient is provided, which platycodin induces NF-κB activation and apoptosis when the cancer cell is treated with platycodin, and inhibits growth of cancer cells in mouse. CONSTITUTION: The anti-cancer agent comprises platycodin as an effective ingredient, wherein the platycodin is platycodin D of formula (1) or platycodin D3 of formula (2); the cancer is selected from skin cancer, stomach cancer, lung cancer, liver cancer and breast cancer; the anti-cancer agent further comprises diluents, disintegrant, sweetener, glidant and flavoring agent; and the anti-cancer agent has a formulation selected from tablet, capsule, powder, granule, suspension, emulsion and syrup.
